HELP NEEDED FOR REFORESTATION PROJECT
Location: Outside Cochabamba, Bolivia

Cities in the Andes regions of Bolivia are suffering from high concentrations of pollutants, and the increasing demand and logging of wood leads to massive deforestation around those urban areas. To face these problems and find a sustainable solution for the inhabitants, this project launches reforestation programs in the countryside around Cochabamba. Together with groups of high school students and farmer families in local communities, seedlings and trees are planted to restore the region’s green lungs. If you are passionate about the environment, feel free to reach out to us for more information!

A small family runs this home in the west of Cochabamba, where 15 children from different (mostly violent) backgrounds are hosted. The shelter provides the children with a safe place to stay and chances to develop a perspective beyond the circle of violence they used to live in. As education is key in this process, the family is always looking for teachers to continue the children’s development and assist them with their homework. The budget is tight here, so they need motivated and creative people who can do much with little. Ready to make a real change? Don’t hesitate to ask us for more information!

HEALTHCARE AND PHYSIOTHERAPY

PHYSIOTHERAPY AND CHIROPRACTICA
Location: Cochabamba, Bolivia

This organization has its headquarters in the center of the city, but the actual work is done in the outskirts of Cochabamba and the countryside. Here, physiotherapy is offered to children and adults, as well as legal advice and education on human rights and rights of people with disabilities. The latter are hugely marginalized in Bolivia and the topic is a taboo in the public discourse. You can help by providing physiotherapy, organizing workshops or raising awareness – depending on your Spanish skills. Do you want to work in different communities in and around Cochabamba? This is your chance!

PARAMEDICS AND MEDICAL VOLUNTEERING PROJECT
Location: Quetzaltenango, Guatemala

In Quetzaltenango, Guatemala’s fourth biggest city, institutions like the volunteer firefighters who respond to emergencies and the city’s health center where people get free consultations are fundamental for a huge part of the population that can’t afford treatment in the private sector. This project needs volunteers with experience in first aid response to support the ambulance, help out with vaccinations and check in on babies that are brought in by families from rural regions. People with more medical education and better skills in Spanish may assist doctors during consultations and take on more responsibility – of course this also depends on the duration of your stay. Do you have a medical background and a passion for helping people? Take your chance and contact us!

people with disabilities. There is a need for volunteers with a professional background in physio-,

FAVELA “ACABA MUNDO”

The favela Acaba Mundo is a fantastic place for volunteers. The name means ‘end of the world’ and there is quite a lot of poverty in this part of town, but very little violence. The community is very active in social work and there are several projects requiring volunteers, so there are a lot of possibilities to adapt to your wishes. If you prefer working with children, there are different projects with 50 to 110 children who are cared for on a daily basis. You could start working as an (arts) activities guide or a homework support teacher.
